2027 Sales & Business Development Internship
Summary
The Albany Firebirds are seeking motivated, outgoing, and career-driven individuals to join the organization as Sales & Business Development Interns for the 2027 season.
This internship provides hands-on experience within a professional sports organization, with an emphasis on ticket sales, group sales, corporate partnerships, fan development, community engagement, and game-day operations.
Sales interns will work directly with the Firebirds front office to identify new business opportunities, develop relationships throughout the Capital Region, and help drive attendance and revenue at Firebirds home games.
Over the years, Albany Firebirds interns have gone on to work for and interview with professional leagues and organizations such as the NFL, NHL, NBA G League, PLL, US Open, NLL, AHL, TBL, Frontier League, MiLB, MLB, Cosmic Sports, Savannah Bananas, and more. This internship can be a valuable step in launching a career in sports and entertainment.
Learning Experience: Intern will learn & be exposed to
- Provide exemplary service to all guests, clients, sponsors; internally and externally
- Process tasks/orders using ticketing software (Archtics)
- Work with ticketing team to process Season Ticket orders, Single Game sales, partial plan orders, groups & single game sales
- Maintain and develop ticket operations department policies and procedures as needed
- Prospect new customers through cold calling, emails, networking, referrals and community outreach

REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants are reviewed based on the following:
● Have completed at least sophomore year or higher at a four-year university.
● An interest in working for professional sports teams.
● Prior experience in the Sport Management field is highly recommended, but not required.
● Be able to commit to the entire camp & Season from mid-October to mid-August
● Be eligible to work in the United States. Have reliable transportation to and from MVP Arena (Albany, NY)
Qualifications & Requirements
● 18+ years old with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
● Available for all home games, including potential playoffs, evenings, and weekends.
● Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
● Strong communication, positive attitude, and ability to lift 20–40 lbs.
COMPENSATION: This is an unpaid internship program designed to provide professional and educational development. Interns will be enrolled at any University. Upon successful conclusion of the program, interns will receive undergraduate or graduate academic credit, as appropriate.
