Albany Firebirds to Host Chicken Wing Eating Contest Presented by Cugino's Pizzeria at Outdoor Block Party
ALBANY, N.Y. – Bring your appetite because the Albany Firebirds are adding another exciting event to Saturday's Outdoor Block Party with the Chicken Wing Eating Contest presented by Cugino's Pizzeria.
The contest will take place on Saturday, August 1, beginning at 2:30 p.m. during the Firebirds Outdoor Block Party from 2:00–4:00 p.m. on South Pearl Street outside MVP Arena, leading up to the Firebirds' playoff showdown.
Fans who think they have what it takes can enter for a chance to compete by signing up at firebirdsaf1.com/blockpartywing. Three contestants will be selected at random to participate in the contest.
The challenge is simple: the first contestant to finish 25 bone-in chicken wings wins.
The winning competitor will receive:

The Chicken Wing Eating Contest is open to participants 12 years of age or older who are in good health. Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign a consent form prior to competing. Individuals with a serious medical condition or health concern should not participate. Contestants may compete while standing or sitting within their designated competition area and may not leave their designated area during the contest. Physical contact with another competitor is prohibited and will result in disqualification. Contestants may not touch the wing basket or any wings before the official start of the contest. The use of utensils is not permitted, and chicken wings must be eaten directly from the bone. Removing meat from multiple wings before eating it is not allowed. All finished wing bones must be returned to the designated wing basket. The first contestant to completely consume 25 bone-in chicken wings, as verified by the judges, will be declared the winner. Any contestant who vomits or regurgitates during the contest or before the official wing count has been completed will be disqualified. Contestants must follow all instructions from contest officials, and any unsportsmanlike conduct or violation of these rules may result in disqualification. In the event of any dispute or circumstance not specifically covered by these rules, the decision of the Executive Judge will be final. By entering the contest, participants acknowledge the inherent risks associated with competitive eating and agree to participate at their own risk.
