Albany Firebirds Stay Committed to Albany and Capital Region following FireWolves Lacrosse Relocation

Albany, NY – The Albany Firebirds are reaffirming their commitment to the Capital Region following the announcement that the Albany FireWolves lacrosse team will relocate to Canada.

The FireWolves’ departure marks the end of an exciting chapter of professional lacrosse in Albany. The Firebirds will miss going to the games and working with the organization, and they extend best wishes as the FireWolves begin their next journey.

The Firebirds are proud to call the Capital Region home and remain committed to our fans and community. We are dedicated to providing exciting professional arena football, engaging game day experiences, and a lasting presence in the Capital Region. As a member of Arena Football One (AF1), the premier arena and indoor football league, we are preparing for an exciting 2026 season at MVP Arena and beyond, and we look forward to competing for future championships.
