Albany Firebirds Re-Sign Championship-Winning Offensive Lineman Colby Byrd for 2026 Season

The Albany Firebirds are excited to announce that offensive lineman Colby Byrd will be returning for the 2026 season. Byrd, who has been with the Firebirds since 2025 Training Camp, played a key role in helping the team capture the championship last season.

The AF1 Re-Signing Period is officially underway, allowing teams to retain their rostered players until 11:59 PM on September 15th. Colby Byrd’s return marks an early and important move for the Firebirds as they continue to build toward another championship-contending roster. Players not re-signed by the deadline will become free agents.

Byrd’s leadership and on-field performance were instrumental during last season’s title run, and Firebirds fans can look forward to seeing him back in action as the team prepares for the 2026 campaign.
