Albany Firebirds 2026 In-Season Internship – Gameday Operations

Semester: Spring 2026 (January – end of July)

Location: MVP Arena, 51 S Pearl St, Albany, NY 12207


Internship Overview

The Albany Firebirds are offering an in-season internship for the Spring 2026 semester in Gameday Operations. This internship provides hands-on experience running all aspects of game-day events, giving interns the opportunity to work directly with fans, staff, and players while gaining practical experience in professional sports operations.

Over the years, Albany Firebirds interns have gone on to work for and interview with professional leagues and organizations such as the NFL, NHL, NBA G League, PLL, US Open, NLL, TBL, Minor League Baseball, Frontier League, Savannah Bananas, and more. This internship can be a valuable step in launching a career in sports and entertainment.


Internship Area: Gameday Operations

As a Gameday Operations Intern, you will assist with the setup and execution of all game-day activities, ensuring smooth operations for fans, teams, and staff. Responsibilities include:

Coordinating pre-game, in-game, and post-game events.

Assisting with fan engagement activities, including working with the team mascot at games and community events.

Supporting special events, promotions, and other Gameday activities as needed.

Working in the Firebirds front office a minimum of 1 day per week, gaining experience in office operations and administrative tasks.

Please Note: This internship is unpaid and does not include housing or transportation.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • 18+ years old with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Available for all home games, including potential playoffs, evenings, and weekends.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication, positive attitude, and ability to lift 20–40 lbs.

  • Able to work independently or in a team.
  • Committed to delivering excellent fan and community experiences.
