Albany Firebirds Community Relations Internship – Fall 2026

Internship will run August to December (2026)

The Albany Firebirds are seeking energetic, outgoing, and motivated individuals for our Fall 2026 Community Relations Internship Program. This hands-on opportunity provides experience in professional sports with a focus on community outreach, event execution, fan engagement, and front office operations.

Interns will assist with planning and executing Firebirds events across the Capital Region, coordinating appearances, supporting outreach efforts, and helping bring the Firebirds brand into the community. Interns will work in-office a minimum of two days per week and gain real-world experience across multiple departments.

While Community Relations is the primary focus, interns will also have opportunities to gain exposure to Media Operations and Ticket Sales throughout the semester.

Please Note: This internship is unpaid and does not include housing or transportation.

Responsibilities
• Assist with planning, setup, and execution of Albany Firebirds community events
• Support mascot appearances and promotional activations
• Make outbound calls and send emails related to events and outreach
• Assist with event logistics and fan engagement efforts
• Work in-office a minimum of 2 days per week (required)
• Gain exposure to Media Operations and Ticket Sales initiatives

Qualifications & Requirements
• Internship runs approximately August–December 2026
• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• In-person only; remote opportunities are not available
• Availability to work events on evenings and weekends
• Background check required
