Albany Firebirds 2026 In-Season Internship – Media
Semester: Spring 2026 (January – end of July) — Must be local to the 518 area
Location: MVP Arena, 51 S Pearl St, Albany, NY

Overview
The Albany Firebirds are seeking a Media Intern for Spring 2026. Interns will gain hands-on experience in photography, videography, social media, writing/journalism, or graphic design—creating content seen by fans nationwide. This position builds on the team’s 2025 AF1 Best Social Media Award and offers a strong foundation for a career in sports media.


Past interns have gone on to work or interview with leagues and organizations such as the NFL, NHL, NBA G League, PLL, US Open, NLL, TBL, Minor League Baseball, Savannah Bananas, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with gameday media operations (photo, video, social, writing, graphics).

  • Help write press releases and team communications.

  • Work in-office 2 days per week preparing for games, planning, and assisting with practice content.

  • Support other departments on gameday as needed.

Qualifications

  • 18+ with valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  • Available for home games, evenings, and weekends.

  • Interest or experience in media, communications, or digital content.

  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
