Job Title: In-Game Show Manager (January – July)
Job Summary:
The In-Game Show Manager plays a vital role in delivering a seamless and high-energy entertainment experience for all Albany Firebirds home games. This position is responsible for coordinating pre-game, in-game, halftime, and post-game entertainment elements. Under the supervision of the Director of Gameday Operations, you will oversee the timing, setup, and execution of performances, activations, promotions, and fan engagement initiatives. This position requires mandatory in-office work 1–2 times per week. Compensation is provided on a per-game basis.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide production and operational support to the Director of Gameday Operations during all Firebirds home games at MVP Arena.
Assist in and participate during rehearsals, including soundchecks, opening introductions, in-game promotions, concourse activations, pre-game ceremonies, and group activities.
Oversee gameday entertainment and manage a team of gameday operations interns to ensure a seamless and exciting fan experience.
Contribute to the planning and execution of in-game promotions, halftime shows, and interactive fan activities.
Coordinate with vendors, talent, players, executives, and special guests to successfully execute both scripted and improvised elements.
Serve as a secondary liaison in preparing, coordinating, and executing all gameday entertainment elements.
Ensure all pre-game, in-game, and post-game entertainment components occur on time and are executed accurately.
Brief all performers on timing, flow, and execution to maintain smooth transitions throughout the event.
Maintain a detailed entertainment timeline, including cue points for music, PA announcements, and performances.
Assist gameday staff with identifying and securing contestants for in-game promotions and activations.
Work with the Director of Gameday Operations to ensure all prizes, materials, and equipment for promotions are prepared, accurate, and properly distributed or stored.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Mandatory in-office work 1–2 times per week.
Qualifications:
Must be available to work all Albany Firebirds home games, including nights and weekends, arriving up to 6 hours before kickoff.
Professional appearance and behavior at all times.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude and perform under pressure in fast-paced environments.
Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to address challenges quickly.
Strong multitasking skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills; ability to stay calm and professional when interacting with others.
Strong team-oriented mindset with an “above and beyond” work ethic.
Must be 18+ years old.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must have a high school diploma.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Current college student or experience in Sports Management, Live Event Management, or related production/coordination preferred.
Knowledge of football is preferred.
