Albany Firebirds Field of Dreams Camp Presented by CDPHP Delivers Memorable Day of Inclusion and Fun
Colonie, NY — May 8, 2026 The Albany Firebirds hosted a truly special and inspiring event on Friday, May 8th as participants from across the Capital Region gathered at Afrim’s Sports Park for the Albany Firebirds Field of Dreams Camp presented by CDPHP.
Held in partnership with the Beautiful Lives Project, the camp provided individuals with disabilities the opportunity to take part in an unforgettable day of football, friendship, and community. The Beautiful Lives Project is dedicated to creating immersive opportunities for individuals with disabilities to actively participate in sports, arts, and community events.
The one-hour skills and drills camp was led by Albany Firebirds Head Coach Damon Ware and members of the 2026 Albany Firebirds roster. Campers had the chance to learn football fundamentals, run drills alongside professional players, and share in the excitement of being on the field with their hometown team.

Following the on-field activities, all participants and their families enjoyed a complimentary lunch provided by Meat and Company of Schenectady. Thanks to the generous support of CDPHP, each camper also received a special camp pack to take home as a reminder of the incredible experience.
The event showcased the power of sports to bring people together and highlighted the Albany Firebirds’ ongoing commitment to making a positive impact throughout the community.
“The smiles on the faces of the campers said it all,” said Head Coach Damon Ware. “We are grateful to CDPHP, Beautiful Lives Project and Meat and Company for helping us create such a meaningful and memorable experience for everyone involved.”
The Albany Firebirds Field of Dreams Camp presented by CDPHP was a day filled with joy, encouragement, and unforgettable moments—one that participants, families, players, and staff will cherish for years to come.
