Albany Firebirds Announce Re-Signing of Wide Receiver Tyrese Chambers

Albany, N.Y. - Tuesday, September 22 - One week into the Arena Football One Re-Signing Period, teams across the league have made multiple big moves to bring their key players back, and today, the Albany Firebirds are proud to announce the re-signing of wide receiver Tyrese Chambers for the 2027 season.

Chambers, a former FIU and Maryland football player, was one of the Firebirds’ earliest signings in 2025, joining the team in September of that year. When the season arrived, he immediately became one of Arena Football’s most explosive receivers, recording five touchdowns and averaging 12.6 yards per reception through his first three games.

In May 2026, Chambers signed with the Nashville Kats, playing with the team for the majority of the season before returning to Albany in July. Upon his return, Chambers immediately made an impact, recording 11 touchdowns and nearly 300 receiving yards over his final three games. He finished the season ranked among the league’s top five in touchdown receptions and third in points scored per game.

Prior to joining the Firebirds, Chambers spent time in other arena football leagues and participated in a mini camp with the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League.

Chambers was an instrumental part of the Firebirds’ run to the Arena Crown in 2026, and the team looks forward to having him back in Albany for the 2027 season.
