Firebirds Friday - Offseason Community Events

The Firebirds have been out in the community all offseason long so far.  There have been many different events that staff have been to, kicking off a great offseason.  The team and staff value being in the community and will be at many more events this fall and winter.

On August 15th, the Firebirds attended Best Buddies Community Day at Crossgates mall and the Palace Theater Block Party where Spike attended.  Best Buddies Community Day included music, lawn games, photo ops, and more exciting events.  For the Palace Theater Block Party, there was live music, and free food that was donated by Firebird’s sponsor Ted’s Fish Fry, and many more activities that people had a chance to participate in.

On September 12th, the Firebirds attended the football kickoff for the Colonie Wolfpack.  The Firebirds enjoy being able to have the opportunity to go out and support local football programs in the area. Another event that the team has been able to attend was the Red White and Brew Fest on September 19th, which was in front of MVP Arena.  At the event, both Lee Brice and Grace Tyler performed.  This was also a huge moment for Grace Tyler as she received her call to go and perform at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. Thank you to Albany County for putting on great community events like this.

The Firebirds also attended Colonie Harvest Fest at The Crossings on September 26th.  There was a ton going on at The Crossings during this event including many different demonstrations and other activities including music and other fun things.  On the 28th, Ben Nelson, the Director of Media, and Anthony Bisner, Account Executive, Ticket Sales and Service, went to a Sports Management class at Niskayuna High School to talk about what goes on in those types of positions all year long.

The team and staff look forward to future events that the team will attend in the community.  The Firebirds take pride in attending all of these events and are looking forward to continuing this offseason for the team.  If you are interested in having the Firebirds at your event, visit Firebirdsaf1.com/community.
